Honestly, what's loving yourself?

What do you consider self love? We often say "i love myself" without actually standing behind the phrase! Or knowing exactly what loving yourself consist of. We was taught to love ourselves by putting ourselves first or by looking in a mirror loving the way we look. So many years of "education" without being taught how to love ourselves correctly. I have learned through out the years that loving yourself consist of loving your flaws as well. I'm not talking about flaws on the outside but thee absolute inside. Like knowing you can be tough around the edges at times, but you accept it because sometimes being tough when needed doesn't put you in terrible situations. So yes you're tough but it doesn't keep you up at night because being tough while knowing you're making the right decision was the right decision. If you can accept and understand your flaws, you achieved a self love accomplishment. Now i'm not saying know your flaws and tell people "accept it that's just me" or i'm not telling you to change. However you can definitely work on them, because self love is about growth! let's not forget that. & if you grow out of those flaws you're definitely loving self because you're not sabotaging yourself growth. Putting yourself first is the easiest way to say you love yourself but i think knowing when plays a big part in that. Knowing your worth! Not accepting part time love when you give full time is loving yourself. Making a tough decision to let go of a friendship, love, or job because they don't see your value is loving yourself. Choosing your peace over chaos is loving yourself. Spending time with yourself to learn you is loving yourself. Self love consist of so many things. It's definitely the longest journey you'll ever be on. What are your thoughts on what's loving yourself ? Comment below!
